Project DescriptionThe bypass around Brighton will be a 9.5km four lane dual carriageway extending from the roundabout at the junction of the Midland and East Derwent Highways, to the northern side of Pontville. BenefitsThe project will provide a long term transport solution which compliments growth in Brighton and surrounding areas. It will remove congestion through Brighton and improve safety. FundingThe Australian Government is providing $173.5 million towards this project. TimetableAn early Contractor Involvement contract has been awarded and an official commencement ceremony held in April 2009.
